Valparaiso, Chile

Valparaiso has many things to offer we decided to walk around and find things to explore...

The Naval Museum was our first location.

It looks like a mini White House, don't you think?

Very old rifle used by Montt.

Cristobal Colon the founder of the Americas...

Neil Armstrong in Chile!

Silly Kristi posing like the statue.

Sounds like the Marines...Jose this one is for you!

Sweet picture of the anchor.

We found props, that room was the best one.

They captured me....

Next to the boat with Kristi.

See the little people?

Nice glass work...
The naval base on the coast.

I found the helicopter base.

Semper Fidelis...that sounds familiar...

Wish this was open so...

I can go sailing on one of these yachts.

No fishing please...

Teen being silly on the shore.

Sweet entrance graffiti.

This place has more than 10 trams, they are kind of sketchy but they save you a hike.

Valpo port, reminds me of the port in Houston.

Ciao,
Jessica

Fourth of July in Chile

Even though I am in Chile I still thought about celebrating the fourth! So below you will see what I did....It started with an email sent from the Embassy in Santiago the capital stating that Americans could come celebrate the fourth there and the only requirement was your passport...

We were happy to see the symbol of freedom....

Red, White and Blue!

I was one of the first five to go in...and we thought we were going to be late since we were traveling from Vina...

Chocolate with Manjar a little Chilean style...

THe flag was everywhere...

Even the plates had the flag....

Sweet!

You can not really read it but it states "Valid only for a slice of pizza or chicken nuggets...."

Gotta love our men in uniform....lol...see Jose I told you I know people!

Gig'em so I finally found some Aggies I felt as though I was in America for real!

Half of the crew, Greg-Amanda-Me-Kristi

And of course I finally saw a Chevy, oh how I miss Silver Bullet!

Below is a small video of our beautiful flag...enjoy!

God bless the USA - Ciao,
Jessica

Valparaiso, Chile

Valparaiso the entrance sign already starting with color.

Not a pretty day but you can still see the city.

Famous Clock Tower.

Heading up the hills, on a tram!

The view after the tram...

More hills to climb

What way should I take...

The graffiti begins..........

There are so many murals everywhere, very distracting.

Chaos....

Hotel using solar energy!

My favorite...sending them off

and them catching them on the other end.

Starbucks has nothing on Cafe con Letras, good coffee and sopaipillas!

Los cerros, everywhere but this two were sweet!

Alley and stairs not a good combination!

Great empanada place!

Cielo abierto best place to look at the sky.

Valparaiso...

Unique, inspiring...

Mariposa, I like the colors.

Great work being done on the wall.

Pable Neruda great famous poet with a sweet house but we were not allowed to take pictures this place was amazing! Best views of the pacific and Valpo.

Famous Poet and me...

Gato con Valparaiso, Kathy I am sure you will like this one!
